Belarus interested in developing ties with Russia maximally- Ambassador

YEREVAN, June 15. /ARKA/. Belarus is interested in developing strategic partnership with Russian Federation by realizing its whole potential for this, the Ambassador of Belarus to Armenia Stepan Sukhorenko said in the interview with ARKA agency.

“The extensive bilateral agenda was formed due to geographical, geopolitical, historical and other factors, as well as mutual economic complementarity of the both states, close cooperative ties between the enterprises,” Sukhorenko noted.

Bearing in mind the geopolitical role of Belarus in connecting East and West, aimed at European integrity, as well as the post-Soviet space, Minsk will continue conducting its multi-vector foreign policy based on prioritizing national interests, building union state, enhancing integration affiliation in the framework of the Single Economic Space, EurAsEC, CIS and other inter-governmental structures. 

“We will try to achieve maximally high results from cooperation with Russia ,Kazakhstan, Ukraine, China, Venezuela, our other strategic 
partners, and also European Union, the United States of America, all other states of the global community,” he noted.

“Also Europe and the USA are our one of the most important trade and economic partners, they are sources for modern technologies and investments. We are interested in developing relations with the U.S., the EU, but I will highlight that the relations with Republic of Belarus, European Union and the USA should be based on equal platforms without any requirements and conditions as well as policy of “double standards,” he added. 

The international activity of Belarus, according to him, mainly aims for ensuring the state’s security and protection of the national interests from any kind of outer challenges and threats; fostering formation of favorable conditions for stable economic development of the country and raising welfare of the citizens. 

“The important condition is an equitable integration of Belarus into the global political, economic, cultural space. And the principally important thing for our state is to guarantee protection of human rights and freedom of our citizens living abroad, preserving Belarus ethnos outside of our frontiers,” the Ambassador highlighted. —0--
