YEREVAN, June 18. /ARKA/. Russian-Armenian billionaire, president of "Tashir Group" Samvel Karapetyan has been charged in Armenia with "public calls to seize power." This was stated by his lawyer Armen Feroyan, "Azatutyun" reports.

Another lawyer, Liana Gasparyan, said that according to available information, the investigation is petitioning for Karapetyan's arrest. The lawyers note that the charge is illegal and Karapetyan does not admit it.

"Anyone can watch this video and evaluate whether it is a crime or not," the lawyers said.

The day before, Karapetyan visited the Catholicos of All Armenians in Echmiadzin in connection with the attacks of the Armenian authorities on the high-ranking clergy and expressed his support to the Patriarch. He stated that the current unacceptable situation will be resolved through the participation of politicians. "If the politicians fail, then we will take part in this in our own way," Karapetyan said.
