Central electoral committee head reports on course of Yerevan city council elections

Tigran Mukuchyan, the head of the central electoral committee, reporting on the course of the voting in the Yerevan city council election, said that today at 08:00 all the 475 polling stations of Yerevan opened for the city residents.

YEREVAN, September 23. /ARKA/. Tigran Mukuchyan, the head of the central electoral committee, reporting on the course of the voting in the Yerevan city council election, said that today at 08:00 all the 475 polling stations of Yerevan opened for the city residents.
In his words, the turnout information will be released once in every three hours and the information will be available on the central electoral committee’s official website.
He said that there are 848,343 people eligible to vote in Yerevan.
Mukuchyan said that eight local organizations with their 662 authorized persons and one international mission with four representatives are observing the elections.
As many as 44 news agencies, 620 local journalists and ten reporters from five foreign media sources are registered for covering the elections.
Twelve political parties and blocs are racing for membership in the city council and for the mayor’s seat.
