YEREVAN, November 18. /ARKA/. Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Armenia Argishti Kyaramyan has resigned.

"The time has come to announce my decision to resign from the position of Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Armenia. This decision stems from an internal reassessment related to the situation surrounding the activities of the entire law enforcement system in recent times," reads a statement by Kyaramyan, posted on the Investigative Committee's Facebook page.

Argishti Kyaramyan was appointed Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Armenia on July 12, 2021.

Earlier on Monday, Minister of Internal Affairs Vahe Ghazaryan, the head of the Anti-Corruption Committee Sasun Khachatryan, and the Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council Karen Andreasyan submitted their resignation letters.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on Monday that he had asked several high-ranking officials to step down, explaining that the reasons were not personal but systemic, as he had publicly stated.

On November 15, during a government meeting, Pashinyan lashed out at the security forces, stating that his patience with their work had run out. According to him, from now on, the security forces must independently tackle the tasks set within the framework of his concepts. -0-
