Armenian President Vahagn Khachatryan has signed decrees to promote a number of senior army officers to higher military ranks at the proposal of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the defense ministry's press service reported.

YEREVAN, July 6. /ARKA/. Armenian President Vahagn Khachatryan has signed decrees to promote a number of senior army officers to higher military ranks at the proposal of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the defense ministry's press service reported.

Chief of General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, First Deputy Defense Minister, Major-General Edward Asryan was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-General.

Colonel Armen Gezalyan, commander of Special Army Corps, was promoted to the rank of Major General.

Colonel Gor Nikoyan, commander of Rocket Forces and Artillery of the Armed Forces, was promoted to the rank of Major General.

Colonel Karen Grigoryan, head of the Engineering Troops of the Armed Forces, was promoted to the rank of Major General.

The rank of major general was awarded to the commander of the Second Army Corps, Colonel Garegin Poghosyan. -0-
