YEREVAN, July 19. /ARKA/. The Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Sergey Naryshkin declined media allegations that his visit to Yerevan on July 18 was connected with the visit of CIA Director William Burn’s visit to the Armenian capital on July 15, the Russian daily Moskovsky Komsomolets reported.

“But I don’t exclude that his visit is on the contrary connected with mine,” Naryshkin was quoted as saying.

Burns arrived in Yerevan on July 15 and met with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Secretary of the Armenian Security Council Armen Grigoryan. The sides reportedly discussed international and regional security issues.

Naryshkin arrived in the Armenian capital on July 18 and also discussed international and regional security issues with Pashinyan, according to the Armenian government press office.

Naryshkin told reporters in Yerevan that Russia is ready to provide any assistance to Armenia for the establishment of the Foreign Intelligence Service.

"The Russian Federation, the Foreign Intelligence Service will provide any methodological assistance, support and we will cooperate as reliably and consistently as we have done until today because we have a large volume of common tasks that we have to solve," Naryshkin said.
