YEREVAN, February 13. /ARKA/. It is necessary today to clear up the political field and free up some space for political actors, Armenia’s president and the head of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Serzh Sargsyan said at the party council meeting on Thursday.
In his speech at the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) council meeting on Thursday the president said the leader of Prosperous Armenia party tycoon Gagik Tsarukian will be withdrawn from the national security council.
The president also said Tsarukian, as a political actor, is an evil for the country.
“It is difficult to speak seriously about political processes and broad political consolidation when you attach importance to a political force with serious-minded people in, but headed by someone having nothing to do with politics and common logics”, the president said.
According to Sargsyan, the clearing-up of the political field from ‘feudal sentiments’ will help seek and make political decisions.
Speaking last Thursday at a conference of non-ruling parties initiated by his party Tsarukyan said that "with the help of a nationwide movement gaining strength with every passing day we will force the authorities to feel responsibility for the current situation and replace the current regime in the next elections ".
Prosperous Armenia is the second largest force in the parliament controlling 36 seats. It was part of coalition governments from 2007 to 2012. Now it positions itself as an alternative political force. –0--
