YEREVAN, January 29. /ARKA/. Armenian daily Haykakan Zhamanak (Armenian Time) says, citing its ‘reliable’ sources that the governing Republican Party of Armenia and the Armenian Revolutionary Federation/Dashnaktsutyun (ARF) have cut a power-sharing deal that will be announced later today after a meeting of the Republican Party’s Executive Committee.

According to the pro-opposition daily, an ARF parliament member Artsvik Minasyan will be appointed governor of Armavir province.

"Dashnaktsutyun is tightlipped on this information, while the Republican Party says no final decision was made yet,’ the daily says. It also claims that ARF may be given the post of labor and social affairs minister.

The newspaper says also the ministry of territorial administration and emergency situations will be split into two separate agencies and one will be handed to ARF along with another gubernatorial post.

The daily says also education and science minister Armen Ashotyan is very likely to be dismissed and appointed ambassador to Belgium or secretary of the National Security Council, while his current job will be given to Levon Mkrtchyan or Aghvan Vardanyan from ARF. -0-
