The Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun) does not seek ministerial portfolios in the government, which is expected to be formed by opposition leader Nikol Pashinyan, but will help it in implementing its plan of measures, the head of the Dashnaktsutyun faction in parliament Armen Rustamyan said at a briefing today.

YEREVAN, May 7. /ARKA/.
Dashnaktsutyun was a junior government coalition member together with the Republican Party of Armenia but withdrew frщm it on April 25 announcing its support for the anti-government protests, led by Pashinyan.
"We do not expect us to be in the government of Pashinyan, but we do not want his government to fail. That is why we will show it our assistance; we will not leave him alone and will do our best to make it succeed , because that would be the success of the people’s movement, not a personality," Rustamyan said.
According to him, a correct personnel policy will be important, so that every one sees that government posts are given to the best professionals.
"
There should be no feeling that one group of oligarchs is being replaced by another. Oligarchs have no place in the parliament, let alone in the government, where there is a direct clash of interests," Rustamyan said.
According to him, the new government should avoid serious foreign policy changes, because it can put the country in jeopardy and all relating steps must be in line with the commitments Armenia has undertaken.
According to Rustamyan, the parliamentary system of government should develop and become decentralized. In his opinion, it is necessary to limit also the powers of the prime minister and amend the election legislation.
He also said that relations with the EU, the Eurasian Economic Union, the CSTO should be developed, while the recognition of the Armenian Genocide and relations with Turkey should remain among the priorities. -0-
