Defense ministry: six soldiers killed in November 16 clashes

YEREVAN, November 19. /ARKA/. Six Armenian servicemen were killed in November 16 clashes between Armenian and Azerbaijani troops on Armenia’s eastern border with Azerbaijan, the press service of the Armenian defense department reported today
It said with the mediation and participation of the Russian side, intensive work is underway to return those servicemen who were captured as a result of hostilities and to search for the missing.
As of 10:00 on November 19, the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is relatively stable and controlled by the Armenian Armed Forces, the ministry said.
On November 16 Azerbaijani forces attempted to break through the Armenia’s state border before being repelled by Armenian troops, the Armenian Defense Ministry said November 17 morning.
It said the enemy has up to 70 killed and wounded servicemen, as well as significant losses of military hardware, including 4 armored personnel carriers, 1 armored vehicle Sandcat, and 5 Russian-made trucks.
Twelve Armenian servicemen were captured,’ the ministry said, while communication with 24 more servicemen was lost during the clashes and their fate is currently unknown. -0-
