YEREVAN, July 11. /ARKA/. Director of Tashir Pizza LLC Vaghinak Ghazaryan has been arrested in Armenia, Kima Avdalyan, press secretary of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, told ARKA news agency on Friday.

“A public criminal prosecution has been instituted against Ghazaryan under paragraphs 1.2 of Part 3 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code (non-payment of taxes, duties or other payments in an especially large amount with the prior consent of a group of persons). He has been arrested for 1 month,” Avdalyan noted.

The Tashir Pizza LLC pizzeria chain belongs to the president of Tashir Group Samvel Karapetyan, who was arrested on June 18 on suspicion of publicly calling for the seizure of power in Armenia. This happened after Karapetyan's statement of support for the Armenian Apostolic Church and Catholicos Garegin II amid attacks from the authorities.

During June, approximately 30 Tashir Pizza chain facilities were inspected by the Armenian Food Safety Inspectorate. Some of them were found to have violated sanitary and hygienic standards and were temporarily closed.
