ENA’s petition to remove the head of the PSRC was rejected
YEREVAN, November 13. /ARKA/. At a meeting on Thursday, members of the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) of Armenia unanimously rejected the petition to remove PSRC head Mesrop Mesropyan.

As Vardan Aloyan, attorney for Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA), stated in presenting the petition, the main complaint against Mesropyan is that, while he heads a de jure independent commission, he is not an impartial official. This is evidenced by facts from his work history read by the lawyer (for example, his position as governor of Kotayk several years ago), his membership in the ruling Civil Contract party (terminated after his appointment as head of the PSRC), and the direct connection between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's social media posts regarding ENA and the PSRC's actions immediately following these posts.

The lawyer also mentioned the appointment of Armen Shahnazaryan as the company's director of economics and finance in violation of current procedures, and the failure to implement the Stockholm Arbitration Court's ruling on the lawsuit filed by Tashir Group (owner of ENA) against the Armenian government. Aloyan also stated that the PSRC head's decision to appoint Romanos Petrosyan as interim manager of ENA was dictated by the authorities.

It should be noted that the agenda of today's PSRC meeting includes one item: the revocation of ENA's license for electricity transmission and capacity.
