YEREVAN, December 23. /АРКА/. Armenia has already received approximately 450 million euros from the European Union for business financing initiatives, infrastructure projects, and job creation, according to Ambassador Vasilis Maragos, the head of the EU delegation to Armenia.

In an interview with Armenian Public Television, he emphasized that 2025 is a pivotal year for Armenia-EU relations, highlighting numerous accomplishments.

"We have enhanced our collaboration across various sectors. This year, we also signed a significant document - a strategic partnership agenda between Armenia and the EU. The cooperation on the ground is growing, and the EU continues to back the execution of programs in Armenia, including substantial investments in the private sector," Maragos stated.

As per the provided information, over 200 million euros have already been allocated to Armenia from the EU this year, in addition to the previously granted 250 million euros, which are fully designated for financing businesses, creating jobs, and developing infrastructure.

'Infrastructure projects span the entire country - from kindergartens in Yerevan to smaller initiatives in Syunik," Maragos remarked.

He also mentioned that the EU is fostering a partnership with the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies, supporting non-formal education, government reforms, and initiatives aimed at developing human capital.

"Support for individuals displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh is also ongoing," the ambassador added.

About EU programs in Armenia

Previously, Maragos indicated that the European Union's investment in Armenia is expected to reach 2.5 billion euros. These funds are allocated for programs that are either currently underway or in the planning stages. This includes the construction of the Sisian-Kajaran highway, the "Green Yerevan" initiative, the acquisition of 87 MAN buses for the capital, the renovation of 50 kindergartens in Yerevan, the modernization of the Armenia-Georgia railway line, among others.-0-
