EU Special Representative welcomes Armenia’s proposal to set up bilateral mechanism to address alleged ceasefire violations

YEREVAN, June 24. /ARKA/. Armenia’s proposal to establish a bilateral mechanism to address alleged ceasefire violations on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border is to be welcomed, the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Toivo Klaar stated on Sunday.
“The proposal of Armenia to establish a bilateral mechanism to address alleged ceasefire violations on the border to reduce tensions is to be welcomed. The EU has for 15 years helped the EU Monitoring Mission organize similar meetings in Georgia and is ready to share its experiences,” he wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
The office of Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed Azerbaijan’s authorities on Saturday, suggesting that a bilateral mechanism be established to investigate alleged ceasefire violations on the border.
In recent days, Armenia’s Defense Ministry denied numerous claims made by Azerbaijan that the Armenian military had violated the ceasefire.
