Eurasian Economic Commission prolongs Armenia’s transition to application of technical regulations for tobacco products
YEREVAN, November 8. /ARKA/. The Eurasian Economic Commission’s board has prolonged the Armenia’s transition to application of the Eurasian Economic Union technical regulations to tobacco products to July 15, 2018, the press office of the Commission reported on Wednesday.
For other Eurasian Economic Union countries the transition deadline remains unchanged – November 15, 2017.

The exception in Armenia’s case has been made for Armenia’s producers can’t use the large volumes of the packaging material purchased earlier before the set date, and they would sustain considerable financial losses striking at the country’s economy.

The Eurasian Economic Union’s technical regulations requires from producers to place warning inscriptions with big frightening pictures on cigarette packages.

As many as 18 496.6 million cigarettes have been produced in Armenia over the first nine months of 2017 (15.1% year-on-year growth). --0---
