Euronest Parliamentary Assembly’s Bureau holds its meeting in Yerevan

YEREVAN, February 21. /ARKA/. A meeting of the Bureau of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly held in Yerevan on Monday has brought together the heads of the delegations of the parliaments of Armenia, Georgia and Ukraine, as Eastern Partnership countries, as well as the political groups of the European Parliament, the press service of the Armenian parliament reported.
During the meeting the MPs of the Eastern Partnership countries spoke on current political processes in their countries. They also discussed issues related to the security and political situation in the European Union and the Eastern Partnership region.
The meetings of the Euronest commissions on Political Affairs, Human Rights and Democracy, Energy Independence, Economic Integration, Legal Convergence and Harmonization with EU policies, Social Affairs, Education, Culture and Civil Society will take place on February 22 at the Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex. Online broadcasting is planned.
The Euronest meetings are being held in Yerevan against the background of a protest against the arrival in the Armenian capital of two MPs from Azerbaijan.
The Euronest Parliamentary Assembly consists of a delegation from the European Parliament and delegations from the EU's Eastern European Partners - countries that participate in the Eastern Partnership initiative: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. The European Parliament has 60 delegates, and the Eastern European Partners have 10 each.
Earlier on Monday it was reported that two Azerbaijani parliamentarians with an accompanying person have already arrived in Yerevan. -0-
