The Armenian daily ‘Hraparak’ (Square) says the executive board of the former ruling Republican Party of Armenia is about to meet soon and elect a former defense minister Vigen Sargsyan as the first vice-chairman of the party.
YEREVAN, September 12. /ARKA/. The Armenian daily ‘Hraparak’ (Square) says the executive board of the former ruling Republican Party of Armenia is about to meet soon and elect a former defense minister Vigen Sargsyan as the first vice-chairman of the party. Vigen Sargsyan will replace former prime minister Karen Karapetyan. The board is expected to adopt an updated party program as well, the daily says.
According to the newspaper, former prime minister Karen Karapetyan lives with his family in Yerevan. He only once left the country for a short vacation. The daily says he broke all ties with the Republican Party of Armenia, chaired by former president Serzh Sargsyan. -0-
