Ex-governor of Tavush elected as head of parliament committee

Former governor of the Armenian province of Tavush Vahe Ghalumyan, now an MP in the ruling My Step majority alliance, was elected as head of the parliament committee on territorial administration, local self-government, agriculture and environment.

YEREVAN, December 10. /ARKA/. Former governor of the Armenian province of Tavush Vahe Ghalumyan, now an MP in the ruling My Step majority alliance, was elected as head of the parliament committee on territorial administration, local self-government, agriculture and environment.
He was nominated by My Step. In a secret ballot in the National Assembly, Ghalumyan was backed by 77 deputies, 4 parliamentarians voted against.
Earlier today, the Armenian government dismissed Garik Sargsyan as governor of Ararat province, replacing him with Razmik Tevonyan.
Garik Sargsyan was appointed as head of the Ararat provincial administration on June 1, 2018. According to Armenian media reports, he will be appointed as Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure.
Razmik Tevonyan is the director of the Yeraskh winery. In 2017, he ran for the Armenian parliament on the Way Out bloc. -0-
