Five blocs and parties win seats in Artsakh parliament

The chairwoman of the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Central Election Commission /СУС% Srbuhi Arzumanyan announced today the preliminary results of the elections to the National Assembly of the republic.

She said the figures were not final, but added that possible changes will not affect the outcome of the polls.
The majority of votes received the electoral bloc Free Homeland - 40.4% and the United Homeland party- 23.63%.
Under the local election law, the threshold for parties is 5% and for electoral blocs is 7%. Thus, five political forces will be represented in the Artsakh National Assembly: the Free Homeland bloc, the United Homeland party, the Justice party, the Dashnaktsutyun ARF and the Artsakh Democratic Party.
"Information regarding the distribution of mandates will be published seven days later, in accordance with the law," Arzumanyan said.
The presidential and parliamentary elections were held in Nagorno-Karabakh on March 13. No presidential candidate of 14 contenders managed to win more than half of votes. Thus, the second round will be held. -0-
