YEREVAN, December 3. /ARKA/. In recent years, Armenia's partnership with the European Union has developed at an unprecedented pace, said Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.

"While the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) serves as a solid legal basis for Armenia-EU cooperation, we have gone far beyond its framework, developing relations in new directions," Mirzoyan said at the opening of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum summit in Brussels.

He listed the main achievements:
* the launch of a visa liberalization dialogue and tangible progress in this process,
* the effective work of the EU civilian mission to Armenia,
* the delivery of the first assistance package under the European Peace Facility,
* the opening of new horizons for security cooperation – thanks to the launch of consultations on security and defense issues and Armenia's accession to the agreement defining participation in EU crisis management operations,
* and finally, the adoption of the "Resilience and Growth Agenda" and the progress achieved within its framework.

"Yesterday, we approved the Armenia-EU Strategic Partnership Agenda, which complements the CEPA and elevates our agenda to a strategic level," Mirzoyan emphasized.

According to him, one of the most significant events of this spring was the adoption by the Armenian Parliament of the law "On the launch of the process of accession of the Republic of Armenia to the European Union."

"And here I want to emphasize the role of civil society, as the law was a civic initiative and clearly reflected the aspirations of Armenian citizens. The fact that the government and parliamentary majority supported this initiative demonstrates that we share a common vision—bringing Armenia closer to the EU. This symbolizes that the path to Europe in Armenia is not only government policy but also a societal choice, a movement from the people to the state. This is democracy in action," the Armenian minister stated.
