Former Prime Minister, ex-Speaker of Parliament Hovik Abrahamyan Detained in Armenia

The Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia reported the detention of former Prime Minister, ex-Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan.

YEREVAN, June 13. /ARKA/. The Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia reported the detention of former Prime Minister, ex-Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan.
“Abrahamyan is accused of money laundering in a number of episodes, abuse of office and illegal participation in illegal entrepreneurship,” the press service of the Anti-Corruption Committee stated.
Abrahamyan served as Speaker of the National Assembly of the fourth convocation in 2008-2011, and headed the government of the republic in 2014-2016.
