France supports early conclusion of Armenian-Azerbaijani peace treaty - Foreign Ministry representative

YEREVAN, 10 September. /ARKA/. France fully supports the early conclusion of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Deputy Secretary General of the French Foreign Ministry David Bertolotti said.

‘We also welcome the progress made recently on the delimitation of the borders of the two countries,’ Bertolotti noted on Tuesday when speaking at a panel discussion on the sidelines of the YEREVAN DIALOGUE 2024 summit.

According to him, France welcomes Armenia's approaches expressed in the ‘Crossroads of Peace’ project announced earlier by the Armenian Prime Minister, noting that regional communications can be beneficial, based on full respect for the sovereignty and jurisdiction of countries, based on the principles of equality and reciprocity.

‘We are active both bilaterally and at the European level. Bilaterally, support is given to various projects in Armenia,’ Bertolotti said.

At the EU level, he pointed to the flagship project ‘Global Gateway Initiative’, which envisages the provision of 2.6 billion euros to Armenia until 2027.

‘In the people-to-people connectivity plan, the dialogue launched just yesterday on visa liberalisation between the EU and Armenia is important; it is a core part of the relationship,’ Bertolotti said.-0-
