French companies may start implementing program in Syunik – MFA

Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan expressed confidence that in the near future, in accordance with the agreement reached between the governments of Armenia and France, French companies will be involved in the Syunik region of the Republic of Armenia.

YEREVAN, June 2. /ARKA/. Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan expressed confidence that in the near future, in accordance with the agreement reached between the governments of Armenia and France, French companies will be involved in the Syunik region of the Republic of Armenia.
“In particular, in the implementation of a project of strategic importance,” he said at the opening of the 5th Armenia-France Decentralized Cooperation Forum in Goris on Monday
Kostanyan noted that the historically established relations between the two countries are at an unprecedented high level and are aimed at supporting Armenia in overcoming regional challenges.
According to him, cooperation is consistently expanding in all areas, in particular, in strategic areas, where the ties between the two countries are strengthening every day.
"Holding the forum in Syunik contains a clear message for peace and cooperation, the key to sustainable peace is also economic interconnectedness and regional cooperation, which will contribute to the establishment of an atmosphere of mutual trust in the region," Kostanyan said.
The Deputy Minister stated that Syunik can become a strategic hub for cooperation, where the implementation of joint programs in the fields of infrastructure, transport and energy will serve the interests of not only Armenia, but the entire region.
"Our goal is to form a peaceful and secure region, where instead of conflicts cooperation will prevail, instead of closed borders - gates, instead of threats - interstate relations will develop on the basis of mutual respect," Kostanyan emphasized.
