French MPs traveled to Armenian Sotk to communicate with EUMA members
YEREVAN, March 27. /ARKA/. French Ambassador to Armenia Olivier Decottignies and a group of French National Assembly deputies travelled to the Sotk community in Gegharkunik region to communicate with members of the European Union Mission in Armenia. (EUMA).
"We were pleased to receive French Ambassador to Armenia Olivier Decottignies and deputies of the French National Assembly in Martuni. We presented our activities and developments in the field of security around the Sotk gold mine," EUMA said in a Facebook post.
About the EU Mission to Armenia
The EU Mission in Armenia (EUMA) was deployed on February 20, 2023 on the Armenian side of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. It is tasked with observing and reporting on the situation on the ground; contributing to human security in conflict-affected areas and based on the above, contributing to building confidence between populations of both Armenia and Azerbaijan and, where possible, their authorities. The Mission has a two-year mandate and involves up to 100 staff, including EU experts and monitors.
The operational headquarters of the EU mission is located in Yeghegnadzor (Vayots Dzor province). It also has operational hubs in Kapan, the administrative center of Syunik province and in Ijevan, the capital of Tavush province. -0-
