Greece and Armenia need to deepen defense cooperation

YEREVAN, June 3. /ARKA/. Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan received June 2 a delegation headed by Greek Deputy National Defense Minister Nikos Khardalias, the press service of the Armenian Defense Ministry reported.
It quoted Papikyan as praising the current level of Armenian-Greek defense cooperation and emphasizing the need to develop partnership, especially in the military-technical sphere.
Khardalias in turn reiterated the readiness of the Greek side to develop cooperation with Armenia and noted that warm, friendly relations between the two countries oblige them to do so to meet the existing challenges.
Regional security issues were also discussed during the meeting. Papikyan presented the security situation in the region after the 44-day war in Nagorno-Karabakh in 2020 and the existing threats.
On the same day, the Greek delegation was received by Armenian Deputy Defense Minister Karen Brutyan. Possibilities for the development of cooperation in the military-technical sphere were discussed. -0-
