Head of Armenian Security Council sees direct threat to Armenia in Azerbaijan's statements

YEREVAN, January 23. /ARКА. The Secretary of Armenia’s Security Council, Armen Grigoryan, considers Azerbaijan's statements to be concerning.
"We see that intensive military exercises are taking place in Azerbaijan, and flights from other countries are arriving in Baku, likely delivering military equipment," Grigoryan said during a government briefing.
However, he noted that in recent years, Armenia has been working on various fronts to ensure the most stable situation in the region.
He cited the presence of the EU observer mission in Armenia as an example, expressing hope that Brussels would extend the mission's mandate.
In terms of stability, Grigoryan also stressed the importance of Armenia’s accession to the Rome Statute, as well as the military reforms being implemented in the country.
"This is a factor of certain stability, and we are considering all of these aspects together," the government representative emphasized.
