Head of Armenian Church to attend new pope enthronement ceremony

The head of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Catholicos Karekin II, will head a delegation that will travel to Rome to attend the ceremony of enthronement of the newly elected Pope Francis, Paruyr Avetrisyan, head of the Mother See division in charge of inter-church relations said.

YEREVAN, March 18. / ARKA The head of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Catholicos Karekin II, will head a delegation that will travel to Rome to attend the ceremony of enthronement of the newly elected Pope Francis, Paruyr Avetrisyan, head of the Mother See division in charge of inter-church relations said.
He said Catholicos Karekin II will be accompanied by Archbishop Natan Hovhannisyan and Bishop Hovakim Manukyan. The delegation will fly to Rome tonight.
The enthronement of Francis will be attended by heads of many states. It is scheduled for 9:30 am local time on March 19.
The new head of the Roman Catholic Church is a native of Argentina. The 76 year-old Cardinal, Archbishop of Buenos Aires Jorge Mario Bergoglio was elected the 266th Pope last Wednesday by the conclave. -0-
