A hot line is opened in Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s election campaign office as reaction to recent media reports about passport data collection, the office said in a statement sent to Novosti-Armenia International News Agency.
YEREVAN, January 30. /ARKA/. A hot line is opened in Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s election campaign office as reaction to recent media reports about passport data collection, the office said in a statement sent to Novosti-Armenia International News Agency.
In its statement the office has strongly condemned such initiatives saying that they undermine public confidence in electoral processes and cast shadow on the election.
Sargsyan’s election campaign team, which is interested in proper organization of this election, will react to every report about such facts and to take every step permitted by the law to punish wrongdoers.
Serzh Sargsyan, the Armenian president in office; Hrant Bagratyan, a former prime minister and the leader of Freedom party; Raffi Hovannisian, a former foreign minister and the leader of Heritage party; Paruyr Hayrikyan, a prominent Soviet-era dissident and the head of the National Self-Determination Party; Arman Melikyan, a former foreign minister of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic; Andrias Ghukasyan, a political analyst and head of Radio Hay; Vardan Sedrakyan, a specialist in epics, and Aram Harutyunyan, leader of National Consent party are competing now for presidency.
