Human rights defenders of Armenia and Artsakh agree to deepen cooperation

In a telephone call with her Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) colleague Gegham Stepanyan Armenia's newly elected Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan stressed the importance of ensuring the continuity of effective cooperation expressing also willingness to exert efforts for deepening and improving this cooperation, the press service of the Armenian Human Rights Office said.

YEREVAN, April 14. /ARKA/. In a telephone call with her Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) colleague Gegham Stepanyan Armenia's newly elected Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan stressed the importance of ensuring the continuity of effective cooperation expressing also willingness to exert efforts for deepening and improving this cooperation, the press service of the Armenian Human Rights Office said.

It said the parties particularly touched upon the humanitarian situation in Artsakh as a result of Azerbaijan's blockade of Lachin corridor, violations of human rights and discussed possibilities of eliminating them.

An agreement was reached to continue the joint work of the two institutions in documenting and revealing the continuing violations of human rights by Azerbaijan.

Stepanyan, for his part, congratulated Manasyan on her election to this responsible position and reaffirmed his commitment to sustainable cooperation. --0--
