YEREVAN, August 14. /ARКА/. The historic initialing of the Agreement on Peace and the Establishment of Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan marks an important step towards lasting peace – for both countries and for the entire region, said European Council President António Costa.

“I had very positive telephone conversations with President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan this week. The EU remains fully committed to supporting the implementation of the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agreement and strengthening regional connectivity, helping communities overcome years of conflict and move towards lasting peace, stability and prosperity,” said European Council President.-0-
