Iran supports reopening of regional communications, including Armenia’s Crossroads of Peace project

YEREVAN, December 27. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received on Wednesday Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, the government press service reported.
Pashinyan was quoted as saying that high-level contacts and mutual visits are important not only for the development of bilateral relations, but also in the context of growing mutual understanding in foreign relations and politics in general.
"Of course, we are constantly discussing issues on the bilateral agenda and I am glad that a working and sincere atmosphere has developed in these discussions," Pashinyan said.
The Iranian Foreign Minister said he had a productive conversation with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
"Today we are in Armenia to once again emphasize the attention we pay to bilateral relations and the importance we attach to them. In our assessment, both countries are on the right track. We observe the development of relations in political, economic, cultural, educational and humanitarian spheres. At the same time, we pay special attention to deepening relations," he noted.
The interlocutors discussed, in particular, the deepening of bilateral trade-economic ties and the joint infrastructure project which are underway.
The sides also exchanged views on issues of regional importance, including the Armenian- Azerbaijani peace process, the reopening of regional transport communications based on the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity, equality and reciprocity -0-
