Former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army Jalal Harutyunyan was appointed as head of the Military Control Service of the Armenian Defense Ministry.

YEREVAN, February 4. /ARKA/. Former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army Jalal Harutyunyan was appointed as head of the Military Control Service of the Armenian Defense Ministry.
Jalal Harutyunyan has replaced Movses Hakobyan who was dismissed on November 18, 2020.
Harutyunyan, 46, is a decorated veteran of the 1991-1994 war with Azerbaijan. He joined Karabakh forces in 1992 at the age of 17.
In the early 2000 he graduated form a Russian military academy. Harutyunyan was seriously wounded on October 27, 2020 during the war in Artsakh and was relieved of his post as commander of the Defense Army. -0-
