Japan attaches great importance to strengthening friendly ties with Armenia and implementing joint initiatives in various fields.

YEREVAN, September 4. /ARKA/. Japan attaches great importance to strengthening friendly ties with Armenia and implementing joint initiatives in various fields. Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba stated this at a meeting with his Armenian counterpart Nikol Pashinyan at his Kantei residence in Tokyo.
Ishiba stressed that Pashinyan's visit to Japan is a good opportunity for the consistent development of Armenian-Japanese relations and deepening mutually beneficial cooperation.
At the same time, Ishiba welcomed the fact of establishing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, expressing hope that long-term and stable peace will be ensured in the region.
In turn, Pashinyan thanked for the warm welcome, emphasizing that Armenia is ready to give new impetus to expanding cooperation with Japan, including in the economic sphere.
The interlocutors exchanged views on further steps to ensure regional peace and stability.
An official dinner was given in honor of the Prime Minister of Armenia on behalf of Isiba.
