Karabakh president issues decree on dismissal of all state employees, except for leadership

YEREVAN, October 19. /ARKA/. Nagorno-Karabakh president Samvel Shahramanyan signed a decree to relieve from October 1, 2023 of their posts all central and local government employees, the Nagorno-Karabakh Information Center in Yerevan reported.

It said the exceptions are the president, the chief of presidential staff, the secretary of the Security Council, MPs, the chief of parliament staff, judges, the human rights defender, the chairman of the Central Election Commission, the prosecutor general, the state minister, ministers, the chairman of the Housing Committee, the chief of Police and the director of the State Emergency Service.

The decree stipulates that the documents issued on behalf of the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh after October 1, 2023 shall be valid.

After the large-scale aggression of the Azerbaijani armed forces on September 19, Nagorno-Karabakh authorities accepted the proposal of the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent for a ceasefire.

Fearing persecutions Nagorno-Karabakh residents left their homes and moved to Armenia.

Nagorno-Karabakh president signed a decree to dissolve all state institutions and organizations under their subordination before January 1, 2024. By that time the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic is to cease to exist. -0-
