Karabakh to post 9-11% GDP growth over next 5 years: pm

The experts forecast a 9-11 percent GDP growth and 10-15 percent hike in annual volume of investments in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) over the next five years, NKR Prime Minister Ara Harutyunyan told the students of Artsakh State University and Stepanakert affiliate with Armenian State Agrarian University.

STEPANAKERT, May 6./ARKA/. The experts forecast a 9-11 percent GDP growth and 10-15 percent hike in annual volume of investments in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) over the next five years, NKR Prime Minister Ara Harutyunyan told the students of Artsakh State University and Stepanakert affiliate with Armenian State Agrarian University. 

The students of both universities met with PM to get familiar with the government’s program for 2013-2017.

Harutyunyan said agrarian, mining, tourist and energy spheres are expected to advance, NKR government reported to ARKA. 

“Export is anticipated to grow over import, we plan to open 5,000-8,000 new jobs, increase the minimal salary, increase agricultural GDP by 12-15%, mining sector- annually by 20%,” he said.

PM also noted in 2012 NKR posted 9.9% GDP growth, whereas in Armenia it was 7.2% and in Azerbaijan-2.2%. 

Harutyunyan also introduced the students with the pension reforms to be launched in Karabakh in the near future, and mortgage loans which will become more available for the population.—0-
