Two Armenian soldiers who were captured by Azerbaijani forces in late May in a cross-border incursion were sentenced to 11 years and 6 months in prison by a court in Baku, according to Azerbaijani mass media reports.
YEREVAN, July 7. /ARKA/. Two Armenian soldiers who were captured by Azerbaijani forces in late May in a cross-border incursion were sentenced to 11 years and 6 months in prison by a court in Sumgait, according to Azerbaijani mass media reports.
Harutyun Hovakimyan and Karen Ghazaryan were ambushed and kidnapped after delivering water and food to Armenian army units guarding the border with Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijani prosecutor demanded 12 years imprisonment for the Armenian soldiers. Azerbaijan accuses them of crossing the state border and preparing grave crimes.-0-
