King of Jordan invited to visit Armenia

Last Saturday Armenian President Armen Sarkissian, who was visiting Jordan to participate in the World Economic Forum, invited King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein Al-Hashimi to visit Armenia, Sarkissian’s press office said. It said King Abdullah expressed his respect for the Armenian people, noting that the two countries and the friendly nations have enjoyed deep ties and historically formed friendship.

YEREVAN, April 8. /ARKA. Last Saturday Armenian President Armen Sarkissian, who was visiting Jordan to participate in the World Economic Forum, invited King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein Al-Hashimi to visit Armenia, Sarkissian’s press office said. It said King Abdullah expressed his respect for the Armenian people, noting that the two countries and the friendly nations have enjoyed deep ties and historically formed friendship.
He emphasized the important role of the Armenian community in the life of Jordan. Thanking for the warm welcome, President Sarkissian noted that the best evidence of the Armenian-Jordanian friendship is the Armenian church built on the banks of the Jordan River.
The two men were said to have discussed the opportunities for the development and expansion of mutually beneficial relations between the two countries, pointing to the enormous potential for interaction in such areas as technology, education, science, and health care.
The King of Jordan said he will soon send a delegation to Armenia to discuss the possibilities of cooperation. --0—
