YEREVAN, June 13. /ARKA/. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin hopes that the diversification of relations on the part of Armenia will not affect Russian-Armenian relations.

"Russia respects both the foreign policy of its partners and the desire to diversify its relations. This is the full, sovereign right of any state. Of course, it is very important for us that such a foreign policy does not lead to or create any issues in our relations," Kopyrkin said in an interview with Euromedia24, answering a question about deepening relations with the West on the part of Armenia and its possible impact on Russian-Armenian relations.

According to him, “Russia expects that the Armenian side, our Armenian allies, will not take any steps that would call into question the valuable things that exist in our relations and that have been developed over many centuries.”

“I am absolutely convinced that we, as sovereign states, are interested in the closest relations, we have a lot in common, and these relations are very important from the point of view of ensuring our peaceful, secure, prosperous future, both for Armenia and Russia,” Kopyrkin noted.
