YEREVAN, July 24. /ARKA/. The discussion around the so-called "Zangezur corridor" is a purely sovereign matter between Armenia and Azerbaijan. This was indicated by the press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov.

"This is a sovereign matter between Armenia and Azerbaijan. We strongly support the negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia," the Kremlin representative told journalists, TASS reports.

In recent days, the topic of the possibility of the US leasing the future road between Armenia and Azerbaijan, through which, according to the US Ambassador to Turkey Tom Barrack, "the Zangezur Corridor will be implemented, has been discussed.

Yerevan called this option impossible. "Armenia is discussing the issue of unblocking regional infrastructures exclusively in the context of the sovereignty, territorial integrity and jurisdiction of the Republic of Armenia, and cannot discuss any other logic," said the Prime Minister's press secretary Nazeli Baghdasaryan.
