Lavrov: Trilateral agreements remain relevant amid current South Caucasus tension

YEREVAN, January 21. /ARKA/. The 2020-2022 trilateral agreements between Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan remain relevant in light of the current situation in the South Caucasus, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
"We have always valued, and continue to value, fraternal ties with the Armenian people and with Armenia—our natural strategic partner and ally and we are interested in strengthening and developing the centuries-old traditions of friendship and good neighborliness," the Russian minister said at a joint press conference with his Armenian counterpart, Ararat Mirzoyan, in Moscow.
The Foreign Minister noted that the entire spectrum of issues, including regional security, would be discussed during the meeting with Mirzoyan.
"Regional security occupies a significant place in our actions in the South Caucasus. We are ready to provide the necessary assistance in normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan on all tracks outlined in the trilateral agreements reached in 2020 and 2022 by the leaders of the three countries," Lavrov said.
He thinks these agreements remain relevant in light of the current situation in the region.
