Lavrov suggests his Armenian, Azerbaijani counterparts discuss implementation of trilateral agreements

YEREVAN, October 14. /ARKA/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Friday he expected his counterparts from Armenia and Azerbaijan to discuss the implementation of agreements reached by the presidents of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia in 2020 and 2021 ‘to understand how move forward," TASS reported
Speaking at a trilateral meeting underway in Astana, Kazakhstan on the sidelines of a CIS summit, Lavrov said the meeting was a convenient occasion "to talk about that and see what we could report to our leaders regarding the implementation of agreements that they have signed."
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said since their last meeting in May a substantial number of bilateral and multilateral contacts had taken place and that it would be useful to discuss "peace settlement, including the delimitation of the state border and the opening of communications," as well as humanitarian issues.
In his turn, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said the current meeting would be a good opportunity to find solutions to normalize relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and discuss Nagorno-Karabakh.
CIS heads of state are currently having a regular summit in Astana. Russian President Vladimir Putin is among the participants in a narrow format meeting. The CIS leaders will soon be joined by their delegations.
This is the second time the leaders of CIS member countries have met this month. On October 7 they had an informal summit in Russian St. Petersburg.-0-
