Mirzoyan and Baerbock discuss Armenia-EU partnership and prospects of deepening cooperation
YEREVAN, 20 November. /ARKA/. Armenian and German Foreign Ministers Ararat Mirzoyan and Annalena Baerbock at a meeting held in Yerevan late on Tuesday discussed possibilities of further expansion of partnership between the two countries, as well as steps in this direction based on mutual interest in deepening bilateral cooperation and democratic values.
Closer cooperation was highlighted, the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported.
The Armenian and German Foreign Ministers discussed also in detail a wide range of issues on Armenia-EU partnership, touching upon the achievements recorded in the recent period, as well as current programmes and prospects of deepening cooperation.
Mirzoyan stressed that the new agenda of the partnership is quite ambitious and is based on the experience of cooperation, as well as on the vision of further development.
Mirzoyan and Baerbock also exchanged thoughts on regional issues. In the context of ensuring stability in the South Caucasus, the process of settling relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan was discussed.
Mirzoyan presented the recent developments in this process, including the work done towards the finalisation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace treaty, stressing the importance of its signing.
The Armenian Foreign Minister emphasised Armenia's constructive approach in unblocking regional communications as an important component of the peace agenda, as well as the promotion of economic interconnectivity in a wider geographical scope. -0-
