Mirzoyan: Armenia expects Russia to refrain from unilateral interpretations of events

YEREVAN, January 21. /ARKA/. Armenia is committed to continue an effective political dialogue with Russia aimed at addressing issues that affect our bilateral relations and the broader regional situation, said Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
"Armenia has always adhered to the principle of open and constructive dialogue, and we think that in the future the Russian side will take into account all aspects of the situation, avoiding unilateral interpretations, which we, unfortunately, have seen in recent days," Mirzoyan said at a press conference with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in Moscow.
He emphasized that Armenia consistently strives to understand Russia's interests on international platforms.
"There is a desire and understanding that the Russian side will also take Armenia's interests into account on international platforms. Cooperation on international platforms is part of our tradition, and we hope to continue this tradition," Mirzoyan said.
The Minister expressed hope that relations will continue to develop, including through respect for sovereignty.
He also highlighted the growth in trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
"In the context of Armenia's firm commitment to enhancing the economic attractiveness of the South Caucasus region, I am pleased to reaffirm our vision for unblocking all economic and transport infrastructures, which is planned within the framework of the 'Crossroads of Peace' project," Mirzoyan said.
