YEREVAN, October 20. /ARKA/. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan noted Moscow's positive reaction to "the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan."
"In the case of the peace agreement (between Armenia and Azerbaijan), the establishment of peace, and the establishment of communications, we saw positive statements from official Moscow. Russian officials also expressed their readiness to support, participate in transportation projects, and so on," Mirzoyan said in an interview with DW.
On the Washington Declaration
Following the meeting in Washington on August 8 between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, US President Donald Trump, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the leaders of the three countries signed a seven-point declaration.
The document, in particular, declares the initialing by the foreign ministers of the parties of the agreed-upon text of the Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan; the signing of a statement by the foreign ministers of both countries on the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Process and related structures; efforts to ensure unimpeded communication between Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan through the territory of Armenia based on respect for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and jurisdiction of states; and Armenia's cooperation with the United States and third countries to define the framework for the implementation of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project in Armenia.
On August 11, the Armenian Foreign Ministry published the text of the initialed agreement, which includes 17 chapters.
