Mirzoyan and Grono emphasize Armenian-Azerbaijani peace treaty

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan discussed with the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia Magdalena Grono regional issues, including efforts aimed at establishing sustainable peace in the South Caucasus, the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported.

YEREVAN, April 3. /ARKA/. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan discussed with the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia Magdalena Grono regional issues, including efforts aimed at establishing sustainable peace in the South Caucasus, the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported.

Touching upon the process of normalization of relations with Azerbaijan, Mirzoyan stressed the importance of signing an agreement on peace and establishment of interstate relations agreed upon as a result of long negotiations.

The sides also touched upon the unblocking of regional communications as a component of the settlement, in the context of which Mirzoyan referred to Armenia's concrete proposals based on the fundamental principles of international law.

Mirzoyan and Grono also discussed the solution of humanitarian issues, including the fate of missing persons and the return of Armenian prisoners of war and detained civilians from Azerbaijani captivity.

The interlocutors also discussed the steps taken to deepen the partnership between Armenia and the EU, including by making the most effective use of the existing instruments. -0-
