According to him, 11,259 of them received citizenship of the Republic of Armenia by decree of the president, and more than 5,000 minors received citizenship automatically when their parents changed their passports.

Ghazaryan noted that applications for citizenship can be submitted in all regions of the republic, and the number of document reception points has increased.

“Persons displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh receive citizenship in the shortest possible time compared to our standard procedures,” he said, explaining that while these processes usually take 90 days, compatriots from Karabakh receive citizenship within two months.

On the ethnic cleansing of Azerbaijan in Artsakh

On September 19-20, 2023, Azerbaijan launched a large-scale aggression against Artsakh using artillery, UAVs and combat aircraft. On September 28, following negotiations with the Azerbaijani side, Artsakh President Samvel Shahramanyan issued a decree that all state institutions of the republic would be dissolved and that the Republic of Artsakh would cease to exist from January 1, 2024.

The residents of Artsakh were forced to leave their homeland and move to Armenia. According to the RA government, more than 115 thousand Artsakh residents have been registered. To assist them, the Armenian government is implementing a number of programs, the primary needs platform https://e-soc.am and the hotline "114" of the Ministry of Social Affairs of Armenia are in operation.
