Moscow expects Washington to refrain from dangerous words and actions leading to stoking anti-Russian sentiments in Armenia

YEREVAN, September 26. /ARKA/. Moscow expects Washington to refrain from dangerous words and actions leading to the strengthening of anti-Russian sentiments in Armenia, Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov said.
"We urge Washington to refrain from extremely dangerous words and actions that lead to artificial strengthening of anti-Russian sentiments in Armenia. The task of the US and its allies is not to normalize the situation and peaceful development of the South Caucasus , but to inflict strategic damage on Russia and destabilize the Eurasian space with the prospect of forcing us out of the region," Antonov said in the Telegram channel of the Russian embassy.
He noted that the statements of the US administration representatives that Russia is allegedly not a reliable security partner for Armenia are outrageous insinuations.
"The Americans, in fact, are supporting unconstructive public statements of Armenian politicians, whose goal is to absolve themselves of responsibility for their own blunders in domestic and foreign policy," Antonov emphasized.
The ambassador emphasized that Russia has been and remains Armenia's loyal ally.
"It has always sought to provide this brotherly country with the necessary assistance, including by sending our peacekeepers to Nagorno-Karabakh. The fact that Russian peacekeepers died in Karabakh
(they were killed by Azerbaijani soldiers- ARKA) only emphasizes Russia's readiness to make difficult decisions for the sake of achieving peace between the Azerbaijani and Armenian peoples," the ambassador said.
State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said earlier that Russia has shown that it is not a security partner that can be relied on.-0-
