The Armenian National Assembly's ruling faction My Step replaced its MPs. National Assembly Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan said on Monday at the extraordinary parliamentary session, three MPs - Argishti Mekhakyan, Aram Khachatryan and Yerjanik Hakobyan – quit the parliament ahead of schedule, and the next candidates in the party list took up their seats in the National Assembly.

YEREVAN, December 28. /ARKA/. The Armenian National Assembly's ruling faction My Step replaced its MPs. National Assembly Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan said on Monday at the extraordinary parliamentary session, three MPs - Argishti Mekhakyan, Aram Khachatryan and Yerjanik Hakobyan – quit the parliament ahead of schedule, and the next candidates in the party list took up their seats in the National Assembly.
Karen Grigoryan, Vanik Ohanyan and Hakob Aslanyan became the new MPs from the faction, who immediately took the oath to faithfully serve for the development and prosperity of the country.
Argishti Mekhakyan quit the faction because he considers the incident with Artsakh to be his personal and family tragedy and in connection with the current situation, considered the resource of his MP status insufficient to resolve the challenges and decided to resign.
Yerjanik Hakobyan resigned to continue his activity in the executive instituton - in the State Revenue Committee.
Aram Khachatryan quit the parliament due to his transfer to another position; he was appointed as Lori province governor.
After the signing of a trilateral statement on the cessation of hostilities in Artsakh, which provides for significant territorial concessions in favor of Azerbaijan, MPs from My Step faction Aram Khachatryan, Argishti Mekhakyan, Vardan Atabekyan, Gayane Abrahamyan, Taguhi Tovmasyan, Lusine Badalyan, Varazdat Karapetyan and Gor Gevorkyan resigned.

From September 27 to November 9, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, with the participation of Turkey and foreign mercenaries and terrorists recruited by it, carried out aggression against Artsakh at the frontline and in the rear using rocket and artillery weapons, heavy armored vehicles, military aircraft and prohibited types of weapons (cluster bombs, phosphorus weapons). The strikes were delivered also at civil and military targets on the territory of Armenia.
On November 9, the leaders of the Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a statement on the cessation of all hostilities in Artsakh. According to the document, the parties stop at their positions. The city of Shushi, Agdam, Kelbajar and Lachin regions pass over to Azerbaijan, with the exception of a 5-kilometer corridor connecting Karabakh with Armenia. A Russian peacekeeping contingent will be deployed along the contact line in Karabakh and along the Lachin corridor. Internally displaced persons and refugees are returning to Karabakh and adjacent regions, prisoners of war, hostages and other detained persons and bodies of the dead are exchanged. -0--
