Armenia’s new finance minister Vardan Aramyan, appointed today by president Sargsyan, was born in 1975 in Yerevan. In 1997 he graduated from Yerevan State Institute of National Economy; in 2004 he completed a course at the Fletcher School at Tufts University (USA, Boston).

YEREVAN, September 20. /ARKA/. Armenia’s new finance minister Vardan Aramyan, appointed today by president Sargsyan, was born in 1975 in Yerevan. In 1997 he graduated from Yerevan State Institute of National Economy; in 2004 – he completed a course at the Fletcher School at Tufts University (USA, Boston).

From 1999 to 2002 he held various positions in the Central Bank of Armenia. In 2008-2013 he served as deputy minister of finance; in 2013 -2016 as first deputy head of the Armenian president's office.

He served in the Armenian army and has the rank of junior sergeant. Aramyan was awarded the gold medal of the prime minister of Armenia, the Anania Shirakatsi medal and the medal for services to the country of the second degree. He is a member of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia. -0-
