YEREVAN, October 13. /ARKA/. The newly elected mayor of Yerevan Tigran Avinyan took office today.

Avinyan was elected Mayor of Yerevan with 32 votes in favor at the session of the Council of Elders on October 10. Five members of the Council of Elders voted "against".

At the inauguration ceremony, Avinyan vowed to serve for the benefit of Yerevan, abide by the Constitution and laws of Armenia, and fulfill the decisions of the Council of Elders.

The event was attended by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, President Vahagn Khachaturyan and other officials.-0-,
